Writing for Healing Group

  • Have a memory that continues to both you?
  • Wish you didn't have such an upsetting reaction to it?
  • Enjoy writing?

Traumas large and small can haunt us throughout our lives, but research has shown that writing about it can remove the emotional sting. Meet with this group to:

  • Experience a safe, supportive environment with others who share your goal
  • Write about your traumatic event, helping you integrate it into your personal history
  • Discuss your writing if you choose
  • Create art in response to your experience

Next group begins Saturday, October 2, 4-5 p.m.

Anxiety Support Group

  • Can't sleep well at night because of your worries?
  • Have difficulty making decisions?
  • Worry about what others are thinking about you?
  • Have headaches or muscle aches because of tension?
  • Find yourself catching every little cold or flu that goes around?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is the group for you.  Anxiety interferes with how well you rest, how clearly you think, how confident you feel, and how well you can fight off disease.  It can be a relief to feel the empathy of others who share your fears.  In this confidential group, you will:

  1. Learn relaxation techniques
  2. Share and problem solve
  3. Celebrate your successes in this confidential group
  4. Working through your stresses by making art

Next group begins Thursday, October 14, 7-8 p.m.

Depression Support Group

  • Feeling sad, guilty, or hopeless more often than not?
  • Having a hard time getting motivated or waking up in the morning?
  • Not enjoying the activities you used to?

Depression frequently leaves its victims isolated from friends and loved ones. Receiving support from others sharing your symptoms and struggles can help. In this group, you will

  1. Share with others who know what you are going through
  2. Work to solve challenges
  3. Celebrate your successes
  4. Creatively express your experiences by making art

Next group begins Tuesday, October 12, 7-8 p.m.

Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) Support Group

  • Easily startled?
  • Overwhelmed by loud noises, harsh fabrics or strong smells?
  • Deeply affected by music or the arts?
  • Told by others that you are shy or too sensitive?

Many sensitive people frequently feel that there is something wrong with them, but it isn't true!  You just have different strengths and different needs.  Both giving yourself permission for self-care and celebrating your special trait can be much easier when you are with other HSP's.  In this group, you will:

  1. Meet with like-sensory others
  2. Reframe painful past events with your sensitivity in mind
  3. Learn to identify and respect your needs as a sensitive person
  4. Create art to explore and celebrate your trait

Next group begins Thursday, October 14, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
